WHAT IS CROSSFIT
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month away from professional fights. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed our workouts daily and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.

Crossfit is a lifestyle using safe, effective exercise and sound nutriton. It can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better athletic performance.
The programme works for everyone. People just starting out and people who have trained for years. At Crossfit Wyre forest, our youngest client is 3 years old and our oldest is 79!
The workouts (wod’s) are different everyday and modified to each athlete. All movements can be adjusted to the individual. Workouts can be adapted for people at any age and any fitness level.

“Eat meat and vegetables, nut and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake at levels to support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climbs, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc.. Hard and fast, five or six days per week, mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports”

People from all walks of life end up in a class together, sweat together, suffer together and work hard on weaknesses together.
At Crossfit, the last person to finish usually has the loudest cheers!
Crossfit is an ‘old school’ training method which includes weightlifting, gymnastics, and structural exercises like running and rowing. It utilizes functional movements, focusing on jumping, squatting, lifting, pushing and pulling weights. The body is built for these movements and uses them in everyday activities. Crossfit workouts (WOD’S‘) can be modified to each athlete’s goal. Weights are adjusted accordingly. Classes are small (max 12) so everyone gets one-to-one interaction with the coach. We have 4 coaches at Crossfit wyre forest who each bring their own skillset to sessions.
There is a different WOD everyday so this keeps the motivation going and helps in learning new skills almost every day. You never want to skip a workout if you are learning something new each session.
Workouts are mentally challenging aswell as physically. The coaches will push you to your absolute limit which helps in everyday life right?
Crossfit Wyre Forest opened in 2008. We were the first to open in Worcestershire, and the 5th to open in the UK. We’ve gained a reputation at the crossfit comps with all the judges, for consistently having perfect technique and rep’s. Our reputation precedes us. Our box is unique. The community we’ve created is second to none.
We have 4 excellent coaches based at the box who all implement the principles of crossfit into their training programmes. We run a varied timetable of classes which include: crossfit, circuit training/conditioning, gymnastics and kids classes. We are adding new classes all the time to suit your busy lives!
